Q. How fast does FireFlame light?
A. FireFlame has a light time of ½ to 2 seconds, depending on the humidity and type of match or lighter used it can take longer. It will light similar to lighting an ordinary candle and slowly build in density. If you need a longer burn time, simply add more pouches.

Q. What size flame does FireFlame produce?
A. One pouch of FireFlame produces a 8-13 inch flame for 8-10 minutes.

Q. Can I light FireFlame with a magnesium striker?
A. Yes. FireFlame normally requires a heat source of 425+ degrees, such as a match or lighter. However, if you scrape off a little of the FireFlame pouch then spark it, the magnesium will light the pouch and get your fire started.

Q. Is FireFlame dangerous. Could it explode?

A. No. FireFlame is NOT a combustible and there is no explosive hazard. Due to its wax composition, it is recommended that FireFlame is kept in a place below 150 degrees - this is extremely hot, and the worst that would happen is that the product might simply melt.

Q. Is FireFlame safe to cook with? Will it boil water?
A. Yes - as an all natural substance, it is safe to cook with and gets plenty hot to boil water.

Q. How do I light charcoal briquettes using a charcoal chimney?
A. A charcoal chimney is a great way to light briquettes. Simply place FireFlame under the chimney, light it and place the chimney with your charcoal in it, over the flame. It typically will take about 5-8 minutes to light all of your charcoal depending on how much charcoal you have in the chimney.

Q. How do I light charcoal briquettes using a Weber or Charbroil grill?
A. Place FireFlame under the bottom grate (charcoal grate).  On the charcoal grate place your charcoal in a pyramid and then light your FireFlame. It typically will take about 8-10 minutes to light all of your charcoal (the edges will turn white) depending on how much charcoal you have on the grate. Once the edges of the charcoal are white, spread out the charcoal evenly for best results with a non burnable device and long enough where you don’t burn your hand such as a pair of tongs and you can then place the 2nd top grate (cooking grate) in place to begin cooking.

Q. Does FireFlame work in the wind or will it blow out?
A. You do have to shield FireFlame from the wind when you first light it for 20-30 seconds, however, FireFlame will burn in winds in upwards of 30 MPH once it is lit.

Q. Is there an odor with FireFlame?
A. There is a slight odor from the wax substance, much like a candle burning, however there are no harmful chemicals or harsh odor.

Q. If my fire is going out can I add more to FireFlame?
A. Yes, you can add more FireFlame to any fire just as long as you don’t smother the flame when pouring. If you do, simply relight.

Q. What is the best way to store FireFlame?
A. A cool dry place is the best, but it can be stored anywhere that is less than 150 degrees. At 160 degrees the paraffin in it will start to melt. It can also be safely stored right next to food. FireFlame can be safely stored indoors or outdoors for up to 30 years.
